“The BlackOut”- Stories in Black is currently still in development. Once, released it will provide a close and personal look into the coming out experiences of black gay men and same sex loving men. Deciding to come out is not an easy decsion for most black gay men. The idea of dealing with how ” being gay” is perceived in the black community, the stigma on whether or not you are still a man, and how your family and friends will react; makes the decision extremely difficult. All of which begins a life altering experience that for some turns out to be the best or worst decision they have ever made and for others a life long interpersonal battle.
“The BlackOut” will hopefully provide a voice and authenticity to these amazing, brave, and unshared yet empowering life experiences. Our culture and pride for decades have been over looked by the main stream gay community. As, well as by the media and more importantly over looked by us. ”The BlackOut” brings us to the front and re-introduces ourselves to the world and to self.

Great website. The book is very needful and I look forward to reading it. I am a playwright/producer and I am currently writing a play called “A Place at the Table” which is a drama about three gay Black men who decide to come out to their families during the Thanksgiving holiday.
